How to Spread Rimfire Addiction

First you have a mild addiction. Second you have PADD (pistol attention deficit disorder), you just can't take one with you, so you list to starboard when you carry your range bag.
Sunday I noticed a guy watching me shoot. He was interested in .22 pistols but didn't know anything about them. We talked a bit about them and then I offered to let him shoot them. First was the MKIII Hunter, which he really liked. Second was the 22A, which he liked. He got excited with the Buck Mark, but then decided the 22/45 was better. I think the coup de grace was the single six.
He then asked which one was "best" and I said "The one you like." The response "But I like them all" confirmed the infection.

OK "typhoid-mary"...
if your Range-Bag is too heavy to walk straight...
you need to get a second-bag and carry your 4-5 .22 handguns in one
and the variety-pack of ammo in the other,
voila!! no trips to the chiropractor... not sure what to do when you
shoot all your ammo and one bag is then much lighter...

Have a couple of 2-gun cases with carrying straps for balance, if I remember to take them out of the bag. Always lighter coming back up the hill than it was going down.

Why - you just use a wheeled cart - of course! The more gear, the bigger the cart. Pretty soon you'll be going to the range with one of those pallet carriers like you see at Costco/Sams Club.

Have you evfer seeen the cartss the SASS Cowboy actiobn shiooters use. Fat tired deluxe Rado Flyer wagons with a rack to hold their long guns. Of course their standard equipment is 2 revolfers a long gun and a shotgun, plus ammo and extras in case of a gun failure.

Greener, you should be ashamed of yourself. But I know you, you have no shame when it comes to this.

Poor guy; you should have at least given him a brick from your stash to get him started and then directed him to the nearest gun shop.

Some Highpower shooters aren't much better, they get creative with their "wimp wagons" all loaded down with gear and makeshift seats to move between the yard lines.

Boy, and I thought I was hi-tech with a heavy-duty soft sided tool bag, with off-set shoulder strap because it rides behind. I can see getting a Radio Flyer to get the spotting scope for the 7-yard targets. I think I will limit my shooting to what I can carry.
Think the range my son uses in Kalamazoo is better, you can back the truck up to the range shed. Then you only have to walk 10 feet for the gear.

You got the right idea there Rob, that is what they use and also 2 wheel hand carts witht he bigger tires and a rack to hold the long guns upright, They need the wider tires to f\get across the range as they shoo very close to the berm at their fairly large steel targets.

I usually see something like this -
or this
If you're out on the links then this might come in handy - different rifle for different distances.
The radio flyer.
But the winner is --
Different strokes for different folks.

Those SASS folks certainly have imagination. The CAS folks have a monthly shoot at Black Creek. I keep thinking I ought to wander over, but it might be too tempting.

Yup, they would hook you and land you. But I have wqtched them and it sure does look like fun, but it could get to be expensiae.

Yep, it would be like slow rolling a bait and then setting the hook. I'm not sure which would be more expensive, the firearms or the clothing. But it do look like it would be fun.

I was watching the SASS championships on the PC (OutdoorTV) the other day and was literally fascinated for hours on end watching men, women and children shoot faster than I can even think about it. Had me wondering what calibers they shoot too since very, very few of the pistols or rifles appeared to have any recoil. Maybe .32s? Seemed like they were having a real blast (no pun intended) and the camaraderie was amazing.
I still prefer balloons or bowling pins myself, but they were certainly entertaining. I may have to pick up a few cases of .44 special and try out my old lever gun to see if I can hit balloons as fast as they can hit those metal plates.

"Cowboy" loads are a tad lighter than normal. It is certainly interesting in hearing the hit the steel plates: ping, ping, ping, ping, ping. Very fast.
I've shot a couple of single action centerfire revolvers and have a Single Six. Keep thinking about getting another single six so I can practice with one in each hand. I know if I do, the next thing I'll be looking at is a two-holster set, and a stetson, and a lever gun and some clothes and a shot gun and....
Of course, after seeing the wagon Bullseye posted, I'd have to have something like that. Wonder if my youngest would like to sit out a semester of college.
