Trip down memory lane in old cars

Post by ruger22 » Fri May 16, 2014 12:33 pm

Since everyone here is too busy to write, I thought I'd post some nice reading. By a Norwegian who has it bad for U.S. cars. Found this on another forum:

The main page has some nice photos of various cars:

I like those sites.

Every two weeks we have a drop in and show your car thing on Broad Street in Richmond. I missed yesterday, but here are some pics

Cars in my family. Dad restored these in years past.

Very nice. They would be great for a Sunday afternoon cruise, today.

Nice Continentals. My most costly diecast model is of a 1937 Zephyr, the forerunner of the Continental. Looked nearly identical, except the trunk lid was curved from the rear glass down to the bumper. No back seat in the Zephyr, the trunk looked big enough for a couple to sleep in. IIRC, Edsel Ford designed both cars.

Those big Lincoln V-12s only put out about 90 horsepower, but really ran smooth. I've seen both of these cars at local shows.
