Ammo prices

Post by Hakaman » Tue Nov 21, 2017 5:37 pm

Ammo prices seem to be coming down a little bit, especially when you find them on sale. I bought 10 boxes of Remington 9mm for $8.79 per box at Dunhams.
On another note, I purchased a Smith & Wesson 829 44 magnum this summer. Great shooting gun and love it.

Prices I see seem to reflect normal inflation. On other forums, I read a lot of whining over prices not going back to pre-shortage. Well, hey folks, that was years ago, and prices would have went up even without a shortage. Most of the 500-ish .22LR bulk packs are $26-30. Mini-Mags are ten bucks. My .38s are $20-22. That's about right for the time since the shortage started. Remington excepted, I don't understand their higher prices, especially since most avoid their rimfire ammo. I'm afraid Remington is on the way out anyway. Lots of online chatter about their finances going south.

My .22 stash is about at 31k rounds, so I don't need to buy any for a good while. Have 1500 rounds of .38, so good there, too. I still have a lot of .22 that was 2 cents a round. Saves me a lot now that it's selling 5-10 cents. I'm still glad to see shelves full, with a good variety.
