They also have the Weigand no-gunsmithing mounts for Mark I/II/IIIs at $35 this month.

just can't have too many mags...

ya know... I probably have to credit the Ruger-Mag-Parts "deal"
as getting me "into" these pistols... I ordered parts for a few
extra-Mag-parts and in order to make full use of placing an order
had to include a few extra little screw/ pin/ spring "replacement items".
( not that they would break... but I would likely LOSE them in a disassembly )
then... I got a 2nd and 3rd Ruger... and had to have mags for them, too.
and got a few more "parts" for my little divided-plastic-box...
after a few such transactions... I felt fully-equipped to try a few 'mods'.

It encouraged me to explore my Marlin-39a & 60... Glock... and others
in general... along the way, I better understand the cleaning/lube and
assembly-mechanisms of my various firearms... all because I'm "cheap"

(for those that missed it, Ruger in Arizona sells pistol parts and the
pricing for a Ruger-Mkx Mag parts used to be about $9 plus $3.50
s/h for anysize total order... they closed the price-gap over a year ago )

Bullseye,
Took your advice and went with the Weigand from Midway @ the sale price.
Can't wait to shoot my old MkII with my new red dot.
Thanks for your help!

SD you're gonna love the red dot/Mark II setup. It's as results oriented as anything gets!

Song Dawg, Which red dot brand did you end up going with for your pistol?

Thanks, gcp! Lookin' forward to it!
Bullseye,
I went with the Millet SP-1
Hopefully its a good set up with the
"smithless" Weigand.
I have to say...getting a red dot just extended my MKII shooting in terms of these old eyes!
Now I'll just press my nose up to the glass and wait for the delivery! :D

If you're having trouble focusing on the front sight the red dot is the answer. Its the single most component that keeps the shooter's with older eyes in the game. You should enjoy the SP1.

That's good to hear, Bullseye!
To get back to the original post, I have managed to gather 4-5 Ruger mags over the years back at the good old prices. Recently I picked up several Mec-gar mags as well. I hope they perform similarly to the Rugers.
I'll be trying my new Ultimate Clip Loader and I've also rounded up a few of the now extinct "Thumbsavers" from Butler Creek.
If I sound like a kid in a candy store it's because.................... I AM!!!!

Here's the MKII in waiting!

GOT IT! :D

This Weigand was straight forward thanks to Bullseye!
I'm very impressed with the clean look and tight fit.
I used Loctite 242 (blue) on all the threads.
Here it is freshly "Eezox'd"

I plan on letting it sit for a day and then............ "blazum up!"
:D

Thanks again Bullseye for your great tutorials! I just proved they're idiot proof!

What is that on the safety?

It's a vinyl cap which cushions slightly. I originally got it to accomodate my kids when younger. It works so well I kept it!
