Great Day!

Post by Song Dawg » Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:20 am

Got together today with an old college friend down at his ranch. I took my newest favorite shooter... a MKII with Millet red dot. We plopped our "double wides" on a stump which was custom made for the occasion. It overlooked a rather huge and deep pond which was in need of some seasonal water. I brought along some inexpensive reactive targets....old marshmallows! Yep, they float, they jump when pinched right and they're just plain fun. My buddy had his Single Six but after shooting the MKIIw/dot he's in full tilt buy mode.
We shot a lot... then kicked back to take time to solve the world's problems :) We seem to have all the answers at those times.

There's quite a few things I always said I do when the kids were on their own and retirement arrived but none are as much fun or rewarding as visiting with an old friend on a 79 degree day in "God's Country" blastin' marshmallows on a pond with my MKII and sharin' memories!

....and to think that MKII sat lonely in that safe for 20+ yrs.
Thanks to folks here especially Bullseye and those of a couple of other haunts for helping me get that shooter doin' what it does best....providing fun & memories!
Life is good!

Nothing like kicking back and enjoying some of life's simple pleasures once and a while.
