I have an S&W made about the same time. May not be quite as small, but it's been fairly reliable.At that time, the Colt .38 would have been one of the most reliable and most easily concealed handguns available.

I can understand why folk have an interest in building a gun collection = rare, old, noteworthy.. or notorious even. IMHO, these types of weapons are hard to justify if one is not gong to shoot them. Museums buy stuff to just display / look at... regular folk generally intend to use what we buy.
I know we can all think of more effective / worthwhile uses for $100K.
